We do not intentionally collect special category data (such as health, biometric, religious or political data) and ask that you do not send it to us in an enquiry.

4. Data we process on behalf of clients
When delivering services, we may process personal data belonging to our clients’ own customers or contacts — for example a mailing list, a helpdesk queue or a CRM record. In that context the client is the controller and we act as processor. We process such data only on the client’s documented instructions, under the confidentiality and data protection terms of our Terms of Service, and we do not use it for our own purposes.
5. Who we share data with
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We share data only with:
- Service providers who process data on our behalf under contract — including website hosting, email delivery, customer relationship management, cloud storage, analytics and accounting providers.
- Payment providers who process payments made to us. Card details are provided directly to the provider and are not stored on our systems.
- Professional advisers such as accountants and lawyers, where necessary.
- Authorities, where we are required to disclose by law, court order or a lawful regulatory request.
- A successor entity, in the event of a sale, merger or reorganisation of our business.
6. International transfers
We are established in the United States and our service providers may be located in the United States and elsewhere. Where personal data originating in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland is transferred to a country without an adequacy decision, we rely on appropriate safeguards, ordinarily the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses together with any additional measures required. A copy of the relevant safeguard is available on request.
7. How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not become engagements: up to 24 months from last contact.
- Client engagement records: for the duration of the engagement and 6 years afterwards, to meet contractual, accounting and legal requirements.
- Invoicing and accounting records: as required by applicable tax law, ordinarily 7 years.
- Marketing subscriptions: until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent, plus a suppression record kept indefinitely so we can honour your opt-out.
- Website technical logs: ordinarily up to 14 months.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you are located, you may have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; have inaccurate data corrected; have data erased; restrict or object to processing; receive your data in a portable format; and withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, these rights arise under the GDPR or UK GDPR, and you may also complain to your national supervisory authority.
If you are a California resident, you have the right under the CCPA/CPRA to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, to request correction, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by California law.
To exercise any right, email hello@makersunityservice.com. We respond within one month, and will tell you if we need longer or need to verify your identity first. There is no charge for a reasonable request.
9. Security
We apply technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk, including encryption in transit (TLS), access control on a least-privilege basis, credential storage in a password manager, multi-factor authentication on business-critical systems, and revocation of client system access at the end of an engagement. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Cookies
The website uses cookies and similar technologies. These are described in our Cookie Policy.
11. Children
Our website and services are directed at businesses and are not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Where changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify you.
